Show Origin
Mad About Movies is a podcast project initiated by Richard Bardon and Kent Garrison in January 2013. The pair currently host a radio show—The Kent & Richard Show—on KTCU (FM 88.7) in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area on Friday nights. After receiving positive reviews on their movie news section of the radio show, they decided to start a standalone downloadable podcast show. A close friend and former media writer, Brian Gill, guest stars on The Kent & Richard Show occasionally to assist with their movie news section. Shortly after the three realized the potential of a show only about movies, Mad About Movies was born. Shortly after forming, Mad About Movies was a founding show on the WONDERY podcast network, getting in on the ground floor of one of the most successful networks in podcast history. This catapulted MAM into instant credibility in the movie podcast space, which led to an eventual accreditation from Rotten Tomatoes.
